Description
A national historic trail commemorating the campaign of the Overmountain men and backcountry patriot militia to what became the Battle of Kings Mountain, October 7, 1780. Thomas Jefferson later called this battle "that joyful annunciation of the turn of the tide of success which terminated the Revolutionary War with the seal of our independence."
